The Hermitage

The Hermitage is the former residence of the seventh President of the United States, Andrew Jackson. The house was owned by Jackson between 1804 and 1845 and became a museum in 1889 since which it has become the fourth most visited presidential residence in the country. Once home to 150 slaves, the Hermitage provides a window into a system that was once an accepted way of life.

Frist Center for the Visual Arts

The Frist Center for the Visual Arts is housed in Nashville's former main post office. Converted into an art gallery and museum in 2001, it is a non-collecting establishment which principally organises temporary exhibitions, several of which usually run concurrently.

Nashville Zoo at Grassmere

The Nashville Zoo at Grassmere is the result of the former Nashville Zoo and Grassmere Wildlife Park joining together in 1996. The zoo contains many separate habitats including the Gibbon Island and the Bamboo Trail, which features red panda, clouded leopards, rhinocerous hornbill and Schmidt's guenon.

Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Museum of Art

The private home and estate of the Cheek family since its completion in 1932, Cheekwood is a beautiful 55-acre property which first opened to the public in 1960, with a number of separate entities.
